US embargoes and PayPal payments

Due to the United States embargoes on various countries, which prevent US citizens and companies from purchasing or facilitating the purchase of goods originating in these countries, PayPal will no longer be processing payments for any coins from Cuba, Iran and North Korea.

Our databases and price guides for these countries will be kept unchanged, and any available coin will also continue to be offered for sale. However, you will not be able to pay for these items through PayPal any longer. A notice will be displayed to remind you of this restriction every time you add one of these coins to your shopping cart, and the PayPal checkout button will be unavailable until you remove all restricted items from your shopping cart.

If you wish to purchase any coin from Cuba, Iran or North Korea, please contact us requesting more information about alternative methods of payment; like bank transfers, which we have been accepting successfully for a few months now.

New Ebay Auctions

Through our recent survey we got quite a few requests asking for more variety in some of our sections; mainly the American and European silver coins sections. At the same time, our purchase campaign is attracting more offers from sellers than we can afford. Therefore, to satisfy both demands, we have decided to get rid of some of our replacement stock, and take advantage of the current silver prices to keep on broadening our offer more effectively. For this reason, and starting this weekend, we will be auctioning through Ebay many of the replacement coins, repeated years and grades, overstock, and any other coins that are currently not shown for sale in our website.

Of course, all our guarantees apply to our Ebay auctions; as well as our current P&P offer, by which you can buy as many items as you wish without paying any extra charges. We will also combine shop sales and Ebay auctions; if requested.

Free Shipping and 5% discount for registered customers

In addition to the existing offers for our 5th Anniversary, and to reward everyone who collaborated in the progress of Silveragecoins along the past 5 years with their trust, until the end of December all orders over £65 / €75 / $100 will be Sent for Free to registered customer; which means that every customer who has already placed an order will pay no shipping on orders over the amounts above.

In addition, and also until the end of this year, we will be giving a 5% Discount on the next order to every registered customer who completes and sends our short Survey. Our Fixed P&P Offer Limit has been Raised

We have excellent news for all our customers from the United States and Great Britain, among others: we have just raised our Fixed P&P Limit for countries that do not accept insured mail (e.g. the United States and Great Britain) from €60 to €150; which is $200 or £125. This means that from today you will be able to place orders up to €150, $200 or £125 and benefit from our Fixed P&P Offer, by which you only pay the minimum fixed P&P fee.

For order over these limits, and only applicable to countries that do not accept insured mail, we will still be offering our usual alternative choices: multiple shipments, insured parcel, and our new payments by bank transfer.

Order to countries that do accept insured mail will continue to benefit from our full Fixed P&P Offer, by which you will be able to add as many items as you wish without limits, and pay only the minimum fixed P&P fee.

And of course, our full guarantee will continue to apply to all orders; 100% safety without exception.

To commemorate our 5th anniversary at the end of this year, and to thank our customers for making this venture possible, we will be setting on special offer and at reduced prices 500 of our best items.

Bank Transfers and Cheaper Shipments

To avoid the extra costs of Multiple Shipments or Insured Parcels for high value sales to countries that do not accept Insured Mail -which we require due to PayPal’s Buyer Protection scheme- we have set a new method of payment by Bank Transfer, which doesn’t require insured shipments. If your country does not accept our Insured Mail (like the United States or Great Britain) and you wish to avoid paying the Multiple Shipments and the Insured Parcels, you can now request paying your order by Bank Transfer and have it sent by signed for uninsured mail.

We have set two bank accounts for this purpose -one in Great Britain and another in Spain- to which you can send your payments by Bank Transfer and benefit from our P&P offer; by which you can order any number of items at no extra cost. Obviously, since these shipments will be uninsured, we will not be held responsible for any lost orders beyond €30 / £25 / $40; which is the default compensation for all signed for uninsured mail. It is assumed that by requesting an uninsured shipment you are aware and accept the risks involved.

2013 Postal Charges

With the new year we had to update our post & packaging prices adjusting them to the current postal charges and exchange rates. As usual, we kept these charges as close as possible to the real costs of signed for shipments of up to 50 grams. And as usual we will keep on charging only this flat rate, no matter how much your order weights or how much it’s worth; we’ll continue paying for the excess weight and the extra insurance charges to all countries accepting insured mail.


But fortunately, we only had to increase slightly our postal charges by around 25 cents / pennies for shipments to Spain and the European Union, and around 25 to 50 cents for shipments to the rest of the world –which will stay the same in British Pounds-.

Also, due to the differences in exchange rates between US dollars and Euros, we raised the maximum limit for purchases to countries that do not accept insured mail from $75 to $80. And as last year, all orders to these countries that pass this limited will continue to be offered insured parcels and multiple shipments at the new rates. There’s nothing else we can do at the moment regarding this issue, as we are subject to PayPal’s guarantee in case of damaged deliveries or lost shipments.
